The objective of this workshop is to give the participants necessary knowledge for implementing PCI–DSS controls in an organization. The workshop with means of case studies will cover the intent of each requirement and will give practical examples on how to implement the same in different environments.

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) was developed to encourage and enhance cardholder data security and facilitate the broad adoption of consistent data security measures globally. PCI DSS provides a baseline of technical and operational requirements designed to protect cardholder data. PCI DSS applies to all entities involved in payment card processing—including merchants, processors, acquirers, issuers, and service providers, as well as all other entities that store, process or transmit cardholder data (CHD) and/or sensitive authentication data (SAD).

PCI DSS is known for being one of the most granular and specific security standards in the market today. Addressing every domain of information security except BCP, PCI DSS aims to secure credit and debit card related information. It achieves this by a set 6 goals, broken into 12 requirements and more than 300 sub-requirements to be implemented within the cardholder data environment. With a large number of organizations and people taking their money online, PCI DSS compliance reinforces the trust that your customers have in your network and technology infrastructure.

About Instructor

Deepak is an information security consultant who has certified over 20 banks and payment gateways as a Senior Consultant. He carries over 7 years of experience in PCI-DSS Implementations, Consulting and Certification. He has trained over 500 professionals in PCI-DSS implementation and risk assessment techniques worldwide, in his capacity as a trainer. He is also a regular speaker in information security forums and conducts information security certification assessments as part of his role in Crossbow Labs. Deepak has conducted PCI-DSS and PA-DSS assessments for international banks in the Middle East region, Sri Lanka, India and South East Asia, the top five e-commerce merchants in India and Kuwait, Telecom Providers in Egypt and others. He has also conducted assessments for ISO27001, BS 10012 and other regulatory compliance standards for various clients in over 15 countries
