Description
This five-day course is designed to provide participants with the necessary information security foundations as well as practical techniques for protecting the security of an organization’s information assets and resources, beginning with concepts and proceeding on to technical implementations.
The course focuses on building the concepts and practices of risk based security into the participant’s mindset. The students will learn about security definitions, concepts, policies and standards, the course also teaches basic incident handling, crisis management and disaster recovery concepts. The final section of the course helps participants designing secure network architectures, investigating any suspicious activity (including network sniffing and log analysis) preparing and countering IT disasters, understanding modern day security devices and technologies.

About Omar Sherin | Omar Holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering with more than 10 years of professional Information security, resiliency experience. Omar is a member of the OWASP foundation leader’s board and a voting member in the IEC/ISA-62443 standard for critical infrastructures resiliency and an international partner in the Industrial Control Systems Joint Working Group (ICSJWC) created by the DHS. He has worked for several multinational firms in the oil and gas sector, Omar is a certified CBCP, CRISC, CEH and ISO27001LA and in his spare time an active blogger in (ciip.wordpress.com) and a regular speaker, columnist on information security and Critical Infrastructure Information Protection (CIIP) issues, currently he is the CIIP Manager in Q-CERT. |
